soooo... what to say?
I know this is late but Happy New Year to everyone!! hope everyone's holidays had special moments.
Recently I mentioned about the agency that I work for is closing. Well the other shoe just dropped. We're closing earlier now. Also, the new agency who bought us are not going to employ/take us employees on. I am completely out of a job as of Feb 28th. The most "delightful" part of this, they told us less than a week before Christmas! I should also mention I am so "HAPPY" that hubby and I are right in the middle of renegotiating out mortgage!!!
I don't know, up until today I haven't been stressing. I have a great supportive husband. He is wanting me to take some time off. The government here offers a program where they will pay for you to go back to school up to a certain dollar amount when you are collecting Employment Insurance. The program is relatively new, but looks interesting. It may be a good idea for me because as it looks, social programs and it's funding are going to keep getting cut.
Part of me wants to take time off and go back to school, just to have a plan B or what not. Also, I feel morally responsible to go out and work. For the last 5 years I have been the "breadwinner" of the family. Financially we'll be fine with what hubby makes and what I will be getting from my Employment Insurance. I just worry that I am doing a disservice to my hubby if I don't get another job straight away. He's really encouraging me to stay home for a while though.
Although I really do love my job, after 5 years it gets tiring to look after 10 high risk teens with mental health issues. I was never one to take much time off.
now on to a dilemma I have. A lot of the teens we have worked with over the years will regularly stop by and give us updates how things are going for them. We never would add them to facebook as it was a boundary issue. Now that they agency is going to be no longer, and these teens want to keep in touch, if they want to add me to facebook, should I accept their "friend request"?
sorry for the long blog (maybe if I wrote more often they would be shorter... lol)
