ALLLL happened on different days.....

So, last night was the Social Distortion show, and it fucking kicked ass! The band was great, and as usual, Mike Ness was so fucking hot it was unreal....I enjoyed the show, standing close to the bar, far enough away from the stage so that I wasn't being pushed around by ppl trying to pit(not that I mind pitting, it's just I'm a little past...

I had a friend the other night get hella drunk at a bar and try to convince me that we could break into the upstairs and hang out with a bunch of grls he just met............... i was like 'dude what the fuck r u talkin about' ...... its funny... people can get so stupid in bars wink
holliday:
Oh god...I kinda wish I'd been there to beat this guy for you...just READING that annoyed me!

I think we should have a universal 'bug off' word...like a safe word in s&m? So whenever someone like that approaches you, all you have to do is say, "BANANA!" And everyone knows what's going on...

Y'know what...let's create one and go with it!
It can be the new thing!!!

Soooo, it's 3 am, and about 12 hours ago, I realized that tomorrow morning, I have to be at court w/ proof that I completed a defensive driving course...oops....So, needless to say, that has been what I have been doing for the past 5 to 6 hours, give or take, defensive driving online...it really sucks, cause it is timed, so I can't speed through it,...

I remember it well. The cop was standing on the side of the freeway with a radar gun(bike cop). I was passing someone going 69 and he pulls me over. I couldn't believe it. mad
I hope everything in Texas is well. I'm getting into the Halloween spirit up here, even wrote a little story about it. blush

Man, for some reason I'm missing highschool....more specifically, the end of 9th grade and the beginning of 10th grade....where I would go to my first few classes, then at lunch ditch campus to go eat the best ever green/pork burritos at this little taqueria off campus....then, since I was already off campus, I would just go ahead and stay ditched...I would walk downtown to the...

Hey you can go to the Brazil, I know it's gotten popular but still......and there is the bluebird thift store by the HSPVA. We do have this stuff in town. Unfourtunatly that won't bring back the angst ridden and strangly carefree days of yore. Just currious, I don't think I've every seen you say why you moved to Houston. May I ask why? smile
bones_708:
When the Brazil started it was a coffee shop although you might not know it now. HSPVA is the High School For The Performing Arts. It's in the montrose area. You would be amazed at how many strange and unusual places there are in Houston when on the surface it seems a little bland.

Thanks to everyone who left their comments, and who kept me/Houston in their prayers....looks like it worked because the Hurricane practically missed us completely....I didn't even lose power! My parents lost power for 12 hours, so that sucks for them, but thats what they get for living in Suburbia! tongue The whole thing was rather anti-climactic, I mean, after the absolute PANIC, the chaos the city...

Thanks for the comment/advice...I dunno how much coverage nationally this is getting, but there is no way for me to evacuate town, what is normally a 4 hour drive to Austin has become a 22 hour drive, same w/ all the other cities...gridlock is bad, no cars are moving, I have a million stories about ppl who are just parked on the frwy. and haven't...

AHHHH, Hurricane Rita......

So what do I do? My family, who lives in a semi-well off suburb of Houston, is thinking they may leave...I live in an apartment complex, right smack in the middle of town...Do I leave, or do I stay? All the roads leaving town are completely blocked...I mean its gridlock traffic everywhich way you go....I heard reports on the news about people...

As you might imagine, being in FL we've had a few hurricanes. It's a tough call to stay or leave. That is a strong storm though, very strong. If you have a place to go, go. Take your doggy too (of course, that goes without saying).

Good luck, keep us posted smile
tathra:
katrina was only a major disaster because New Orleans (hereafter referred to as Atlantis) was built BELOW SEA LEVEL. i'm thinkin Houston is far enough inland that you wont have to worry about the storm surge and whatnot, so flooding would mainly come from rain, and strong winds will be the main damaging aspect.

my advice is to definately find somewhere else to stay, at least for a few days. power will be out for an undermined amount of time in houston, no doubt about that, and being stuck in blistering heat with no ac, no way to keep water cool, and no way to cook food aside from campfire style... it'll be rather miserable. try taking roads that arent interstates/highways out of town, because most idiots dont even consider the fact that interstates/highways are not the only roads that lead out of the city, so it should be rather smooth sailing.

oh, and i find it rather unlikely that Rita will lose strength before landfall. be safe!
