Last friday I saw the Beach Boys. They played out in the middle of PA somewhere. Mike Love was the only original member, and Bruce Johnson who is a cousin of the Wilson's is a semi-original member. But the band was good, they sang all the songs. Even when Mike Love went to sing there was another guy singing along with him. Still a fun show though. I've seen Brian Wilson a couple times, that was way better then the current Beach Boys line-up.
Last night, I saw Gogol Bordello play at the Electric Factory in Philly. That was fucking amazing, really probably the best concert I've ever been too. Super-High energy, every body was jumpin and dancin, singing and shouting, It was the first show of their world tour. It was one of those shows where at the end of the encore, while the band is standin there saying thank you and staring at the crowd, and the crowd is doing the same towards the band, the amount of love and energy and electricity, or whatever the hell it is that is in the room at that moment, is almost tangible. If you have never seen or heard these guys before, listen to them, and more importantly go to a show, and if you can't make it to a live show look up there live performances on You Tube.
