Well as a surprise my girlfriend picked me up two ferrets!! *BEAM* I really shouldn't get more pets but I love ferrets! Heh heh! They are free too because someone was dropping them off at the pet store she works at. Both fixed (duh), de-scented, litter trained, big cage and other stuff. All free! WEEHA!
This weekend we're going to go to one of my favorite medieval events ( I play a live action roleplaying game called The Realms. Check out my linkylink). It's called The Queen of Hearts tournies.
Basically people form large teams and back a person to run as QoH. Then there are all kinds of tournaments for points. Person with the most points at the end wins.
One of the events is called single short. You fight with a single weapon no longer than 3' 8". I'm the best at that so I'm hired for my team.
When I say I'm the best at that....I mean it. Of all the years I've done it I lost once...because I had the flu and had knee surgury two days before. *shrug* What can you do?
Also this is my favorite event because one of the main events is called the Queens War.
Each team has a number of people standind and sitting determined by event standings over the past two days.
Each team sends in one person to fight against the other teams. Whoever wins gets to take one of their sitting people and put them in the standing line.
Only people in the standing line get to fight. Basically it's a war of atrition (sp?).
I LOVE this fight and get so hyped up about!! I let my hair down...I bounce around...my skin tingles!! GRRRRAWR!!! LOVE IT!!!
*pant* *pant* *ahem*
Ok better now.
Anyways I hope everyone has a great weekend. Play safe and take care. If you need anything please feel free to let me know. I'll do what I can.
My remember this time is one of my favorite poems....enjoy and let me know whatcha think.
"How Did You Die" by Edmund Vance Cook
Did you tackle that trouble that came your way with a resolute heart and cheerful?
Or hide your face from the light of day, with a craven soul and fearful?
Oh a trouble's a ton, or a trouble's an ounce.
For a trouble is what you make it.
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts...
but only how did you take it?
If you are beaten to earth? Well what's that?
Come up with a smiling face.
it's nothing against you to fall down flat...
but to lie there....THAT'S the disgrace.
The harder youre thrown, why the higher you bounce.
Be proud of your blackened eye.
It isn't the fact that you're beat that counts....
but how did you fight? And why?
And if you're done unto death, what then?
If you battled the best you could; if you played your part in the world of men...
why the Critic will call it good.
For death comes with a crawl, or it comes with a pounce.
And wether she's slow or spry,
It isn't the fact that you're dead that counts...
but only...
How did you die?
That poem has been ever so slightly changed by my memory. Though each time I see it, hear it or say it my blood races. My eyes water with emotion and I get goosebumps.
Take care all.

When fereets are de-scented, do they still stink afterwards? I've heard that they have so we've never got one. I want one, though. Our neighbor has one and she takes him out front and lets him play in the grass....He's so cute!
Have fun this weekend and maybe when you return, I will have some fresh pics up
