so last night i went to philadelphia to see from autumn to ashes.
the show was at the electric factory, which i had never been to before. and, well, it's a shitty place to see a show. i really didn't like the set up at all. it felt like an indoor warped tour. i didn't dig the crowd either, but that's probably because of the other bands (taking back sunday , recover, and breaking pangea). just really.....fake and uncaring. i also like when there's the meathead guys who are at a real pit for the first time and the need to warn all the girls around that they shouldn't go in there or they might get hurt. then 2 minutes later the girls that they warn are dancing so much harder than the meatheads ever will. getting back to the point, the soundguy really sucked. the vocals were turned up way too loud and the guitars were too quiet and the bass sounded like shit, turned up to the point that it was all running together.
i've seen from autumn to ashes like 3 times before that night. they've always sounded amazing. but that fateful night in philly...they were just alright. they were by far the best band that played that night, but not to the level where i've seen them before. i think this had A LOT to do with the sound guy, which, as i've mentioned before, SUCKED ASS! they did open with the instrumental from the EP though, amazing. fata remains very cool guys though. in a venue set up so that there is no band-fan interaction, the guys from fata still walked around and talked with people. very cool.
i wasn't in the best of moods for the show either. i just really missed my girl. sigh.
i might go see sworn enemy tonight if i get some damn work done. it's unconfirmed if sworn enemy is actually playing though, so we'll see.
