Went out last night and got very very very very drunk! JD and Coke was two quid a go in the club, and that's all I drank the whole time. I went in with 60, I now have 20 left....
And then there was all the shit that they fed me beforehand!
So, today has not been so productive! I woke up at 2pm in a friends flat sleeping on their breakfast bar. They live in those student halls flats where you get two toilets and two shower rooms, so no available bath to crash out in
Felt not too bad though, so sticking to one drink worked pretty good. Although, I just remember being bought a Jaegermeister. But it was just the one. Got home, so I decided to try and cure my cars current weird overheating problem.
It's been nudging into the red on the temperature gauge since coming back from Glasgow from seeing Isis and Jesu in the Garage. I couldn't decide the cause; First i wondered if the electric fans had died, but they hadn't. Then I wondered if the switch for them had, but it hadn't. Then I suspected the sensor for the gauge, which was new in Jan and seemed to be working OK before. I wondered if the radiator was somehow blocked, but flushing didn't help. So, that only really left the thermostat. Now, I did consider this early on, but the weird thing was that the top hose to the radiator was hot enough, and so was the end tank where it connects to, plus I thought if it wasn't opening then it would have overheated off the scale and gone pop.
So, today I got out the socket sets and took out the thermostat. Had a little woes getting the o-ring to seal and stop the housing leaking without the thermostat being inside it, but I solved that with some copper wire in the o-ring. Went a run into town earlier with no thermostat in there, and the gauge barely got into normal portion from the cold point. Go me!
I can only imagine that either the thermostat was opening only a little and not enough (hence why there was heat in the radiator), or a little water was circulating through the little relief valve in it and that was how the radiator did see some heat. Ah well, oils well that ends well, I will order a new thermostat tomorrow. At least it didn't totally fry and crack or warp the head!
And now, I'm going to make a big pot of tea, and watch Alice In Wonderland
