Hey hey, kids!!!! Woooohahahaha!
God, I've been busy. Don't really know with what exactly though... Isn't that weird?? When time has just flown by but you can't pick up on anything in particular that has taken it all up??
Our gig on Friday night was really really mega! The place was rammed to the hilt, and unfortunately the bar staff started throwing out the under 18 kids to make space. We felt really bad, as those kids make a big part of our fanbase, and they spend what little cash they have on seeing us play and buying our stuff. It's really cool that we sit right up there with their Marilyn Manson and Murderdolls CDs, and they go so nuts when we play! Thankfully not all of them were sent walking, and when we went on the remaining ones were all packed at the front of the stage getting their dose of fake blood and going mental. Christ, they were fuckin stage diving and crowd surfing!! I've never seen that at a local gig, particularly one in a bar. All that just really helped us play well, we all had a really really great gig and everyone who spoke to me said it was one of the best we'd played. One girl I'd never even seen anywhere before came up and shook my hand. Wow!
So, we hope this bodes well for our next local gig which is to raise awareness and money for a big project to build an indoor skatepark and extreme sports centre down the beach. Transition Extreme sports are working with the local council to build the place, with a 2.7M budget. They plan to bus in skaters, punks, rock climbers and suchlike from all over the county to the gig, so we hope it'll be a jam packed gig. We had to do a photo shoot down at the existing condemed skatepark yesterday morning, that was fun! Local skate photog Alex who has the enviable job of flying to skate comps all over the world to take pictures for the skating mags did the job, we had a good time and he got some pretty cool shots! The Mant is the only one in Karloff who skates, so we did some shots of him pulling a blunt on the ramp with me and Ghoulmore playing monsters trying to grab him. Hopefully get copies of the pics and post them soon! I also had to do cheesy rock guitar poses for the local rag photog, which was.... embarrassing!
Also spent half a day trying to help my Aussie mate in local band Filthpact try to syphon the 40 litres of diesel out his old van which is destined for the scrapheap. We ended up both drinking a bunch of diesel and ending up with none in the jerry cans! The tank is too low to the ground and the filler too high up to do it, so I'm gonna take a trailer to pick it up, put it on a ramp at the army barracks and punch a big hole in the tank! Haha! Wasn't very nice burping and tasting diesel the rest of the day tho...
Today I plan on doing very little. But, I might go start digging out the front garden where I am going to put gravel for parking down. I've been feeling slightly coldy and tired the last few days, so I slept from midnight last night until almost mid-day today to try and catch up. Got the Wasted festival on Thursday and I wanna be on form for that. Too many class bands to see and go nuts to!
How's everyone else been??
