Finally, I have finished editing and tweaking my multitude of photographs taken on a recent trip to Hong Kong. Roughly five hundred pics (not including those taken on my phone) have been whittled down to one hundred, some of which I would like to share. Fear not! It won't be all one hundred of the buggers!!
I won't write a full travel journal either...Hong Kong is vibrant enough, busy enough and interesting enough to write a Bill Bryson style book about and, who knows, maybe one day I will do such a thing. But for now, some pics and a little nugget of info to go with each.
View of (I think) Hennessey Road. Note the trams that are still in use...
Moody black and white shot of part of the skyline. The tall one is the building Batman jumped off in The Dark Knight...
The Lippo buildings, according to locals, look like koala bears hugging a tree.
With Hong Kong not having a lot of room on which to build, you tend to have to build upwards. HK has more skyscrapers than any other city. I like (and am a little frightened by) the density of the population, the hive of people crammed together...I also like the vertical lines of colour in such images (being a bit arty-farty there, sorry).
View from The Peak by day...
...and by night...
Macaque on top of, what looks like, a statue of a monkey god. I hope it is because...irony!
Image from a temple that I've tweaked the fuck out of! I now pronounce you 'arty-farty'!
Part of Po Lin gardens, next to Chi Lin Nunnery.
Huge buddha statue on the island of Lantau. It's the largest statue of it's type (specifically an outdoor seated bronze buddha!). You take a cable car up to it...takes 25 minutes!!
View from the ICC Building, the tallest in Hong Kong...
A few of the iconic skyline to finish.
I'm quite happy with some of those snaps. Hope you like 'em too!
