Go here and look at these photos:

http://www.privilogic.com/wordsfail/

Although I'm still saddened to think about the thousands of people who lost their lives two years ago, it saddens me even more that in such a short amount of time we have squandered the sympathy of literally the entire world. Looking at those photos, it's hard to deny that September 11th could have been a huge...

ugghh... too much food tonight... ughh...

I'm going to halloween as a pirate for probably the third time in my life. If I don't have a show on Nov 1st, I'll go to a party instead and arrive with a mermaid for dramatic effect. umm.. having options with my social life, what a rare thing!

hmmm... I suppose I'll finally pick my favorite Suicide Girls...

Oh my God. I thought my priorities were displaced but someone has just constructed a website to complain about various cafeteria employees at CWRU... here's an excerpt:

You came to work at CWRU/University Hospitals early Monday morning. You cant rely on a shuttle, so you walk the 65 miles from your parking lot through the sleet and rain to your job. You decide to reward...

I have a new passion and this passion is in the form of 1/2 pint of Guinness, 3/4 shot of Jameson, and 1/4 shot of Bailey's... yes, the Irish Car Bomb. 3 day weekend with about 4 drinks a night = 12 Irish Car Bombs in the stomach of Yours Truly.

The Blasters are playing in Cleveland this month... yeesss!!

Lorelei is the only person...

Perhaps it's the color of the sun cut flat
An' coverin' the crossroads i'm standin' at
Or maybe it's the weather or somethin' like that
But mama, you been on my mind.

I don't mean trouble, please don't put me down or get upset
I am not pleadin' or sayin', "I can't forget''
I do not walk the floor bowed down an' bent, but yet...

That's a very depressing song.

About the riots, as I am a pacifist, I pretty much agree with your opinion against violence. However, after the initial tension here died down (which was considerable and unbearable), people became much more polite to each other. I have always been the type to give a "thank you" for the least of service someone might give me, but usually people could care less. Nowadays, though, everone seems to really appreciate the small kindnesses that we are supposed to give automatically.

Other than that, I don't think much has improved as far as the immediate conditions that caused the riots. City council and the Cincinnati police haven't really done much of anything substantial. Oh well, like I really expected any changed to come from that end anyway.

BTW, I wasn't in the middle of the riots when the fellows took their potshot at me. I was just driving on the highway. Downtown was under curfew/martial law. That should give you some idea of how extreme the tension was.

I will be watching for news about your tour.

Adieu,
Jacob

Oh... what a night..

I tried to reason with an inconsiderate stranger and was physically attacked. The bump on my face has nearly disappeared. If only he hadn't hit my stomach so damn hard..

Funny thing.. I was just thinking of why it is so stupid to be scared of other people, just afraid of being robbed, attacked, shot, etc, etc... I rented Michael Moore's...

If you haven't yet guessed, I'm often very sarcastic.

Sorry that you got pummeled. I know just what your talking about, though. I've never been in a fight, and I always worry about it -- it's this thing that you have to ignore when walking into a rowdy bar, dealing with drunks,etc... yet theres this nagging little curiosity about how I'd handle myself in the situation... friggin male conditioning.
Though I've heard that chicks dig black eyes.

And I think that Columbine should be MANDATORY viewing in every highschool. After seeing it I really wanted to move to Canada, a feeling that grows every time I read the paper of hear Bush's smug prattle...

I'll be moving back to cleveland in January and I'll be sure to sheck you guys out...

edited because I was going to change "sheck" to "Check," but after consideration, I think that I like "sheck" better...

Geez.. this is the most eloquent thing I've read in a long time:

I saw a woman sleeping. In her sleep she dreamt life stood before her, and held in each hand a gift-- in one hand love, in the other freedom. And she said to the woman, 'choose'. And the woman waited long: and she said 'freedom'.' And life said "thou hast well chosen....

So, I was safe during "Blackout 2003." And, actually, I wish things like that would happen more often. I know, there was much to bitch and moan about: no clean water for a couple of days, no air conditioning, five-way traffic lights suddenly transformed into 'four-way stops,' etc, etc.. But while riding my bike through town on Thursday evening, I have never witnessed so many...

Saturday night. Bored. Hoping to receive a call from a friend..

I've fanagled (sp?) my way into earning extra money by playing bad country music on my fiddle. As such, I'm now a member of a full-fledged bar band, the Barflys. The catch? Well.. I actually have to learn some new songs, and with my attention span lately, this is turning into a difficult task. Tonight, my goal is to learn "little honey" by the Blasters and arrange some parts for a couple GC5 tunes.

If you have never heard of the GC5 and you have a penchant for SLF, Swingin' Utters, or the Pogues, check them out. Better yet, buy "Never Bet the Devil Your Head." They have rocked Cleveland harder than Cleveland deserves to be rocked.

Just bought a big bottle of Bombay Sapphire to help me along.. I wonder if I have enough grapefruit juice? oh... those leaves of paradise.

Also, I'm looking for a new profile picture. No Suicide Girls are posting here anymore and I'm blaming my lot directly on that stupid picture of me smile I thought I would go that smart, sensitive guy route, but I'm thinking that my pic just screams NERD!! Perhaps I'll grow some facial hair and points some guns toward the camara the next time around...

fuck... my 18-year-old cousin was married today to a guy who plays in a Korn-esque christian rock band. In a church w/ a poster reading "focus on the muslim world" no less. Oh yeah, I'm also looking to adopt a new family.

Back to work... back to waiting by the phone!
