Summer is scortching the Crescent City, Boss Hog has called in reinforcements from the National Guard, and I continue to flail about in my life hoping that somehow- with the proper effort, civic engagement, protests, or whatever- things can be made better. Meanwhile it seems as thought the rest of the country has moved on. I could write about my depression but I'm too depressed...

carnival season again... bittersweet mardi gras.

out of town for a few days... in the Netherlands...Hope I return to New Orelans refreshed and ready to confront the grim realities that have befallen my beloved town...
