Bills and Bullets...
If you were wondering why my last blog featured a gowned RoadieShow kicking it old school in an ER, don't worry. It seems I took a road case to the leg one too many times and I have damaged some superfluous blood vessels. There's actually a fist-sized lump of broken veins right above my right knee! It had swelled and become really painful so I beat feet to the ER in hopes of avoiding death-by-bloodclot or to begrudgingly begin fighting cancer head on.
They gave me an ultrasound, found nothing to worry about and sent me home in under 4 hours.
Cost to date: $2500
SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!
I took no medicine, wasn't injected with anything, was barely examined and didn't even take home the gown. Add that to my recent $2000 tax bill and I'll of a sudden looking at $5000 of debt I didn't have this time last month. And nothing to show for it!
So, I bought a new gun.
Meet "The Judge":
It shoots the giant .45 Colt rounds or even .410 shotgun shells! You can load shells that have 1-4 slugs in them, all the size of .38 caliber bullets AND fill in the spaces with bird shot, for good measure. It's nasty. Designed in Brazil for Judges who desired a hand cannon to defend themselves against really pissed-off defendants. The "Public Defender" model I picked up has a shorter barrel and compact rosewood grip, for easier concealment.
Don't try to vanjack me.
In the world of Rock...
I've been working a ton of shows lately but I'll just give you details about Cake. They kicked ass. I worked 2 nights with these guys and they are easily one of my favorite bands out on tour today. We set up a giant mirror ball as a "moon" that hung in front of a mountainscape backdrop. The "moon" would light up, triggered by the band, whenever they liked.
Here's a video of the "Moon" getting set up...
Other than that, I've been doing a lot of freelance work lately. I was able to shoot Iron Chef Jose Garcas, that was pretty cool... and it looks like I'll be doing some ongoing freelance work shooting rare gold coins from shipwrecks! Easy extra cash, make my own hours, excellent rate.
I'll say goodbye by sharing a few pics of my catboys, as shot by Gadget's iPhone 3GS:

Cake is awesome, you are lucky!
I miss talking with you <3
Kickass gun. I've been reading a lot about how to convert weapons to fully automatic.. Which is funny because I've only ever shot a gun once in my life.
I love the "Public Defender" logo it has on it.
