So, I went to see #GhostInTheShell last night in IMAX 3D. It was well worth it! And a bonus, our theatre gave out free movie posters too! The movie is visually stunning and true to the original anime movie. Even if you've never seen any of the original anime or any of the anime series, it's still a great movie! They did an amazing job translating many of the iconic scenes from the original anime movie into live action. The entire cast was magnificent. I'm holding back the 'spoilers' in case there are those that want to see it and don't want it spoiled for them (PM me if you want more details!). I will say there was one thing that bugged me during the film, but they resolved it by the end of the movie (the resolution is tied to the plot line/arch - not saying more!).
And yes, I will be seeing it again this weekend, though in 2D this time.
My review: DEFINITELY see #GhostInTheShell! I think that either in 3D or 2D it will be amazing, though some of the visual effects I think definitely benefitted from the 3D. I don't know the quality difference between the IMAX 3D and Real-3D, but if you can see the IMAX 3D, it's worth the extra ticket price.
