Hope you guys are having a great weekend!
I'm having an awesome one so far...today I went to a birds of prey facility, and long story short, I'm going to be volunteering there on Saturdays. They rehabilitate injured birds and release the ones which can be re-released back into the wild, and care for the permanently injured ones who never can.
Today I got a chance to see bald eagles, golden eagles, owls, falcons, hawks, kestrels...many different kinds of birds of prey. I would really love to delve into their falconry program, and become an apprentice falconer someday. It's very difficult, because during a falconry apprenticeship, you are supposed to catch your own bird - a year old redtailed or red-sholuldered hawk. Then you're expected to build a "mew" (a wooden shed type thing) to keep your bird in, and it needs to be at least 8 feet by 10 feet.
It's a lot more complicated than I thought it would be. I figured I could learn basic falconry techniques without having to become an official apprentice...I guess I will have to wait and see.
Here are some of the awesome birds I had a chance to see today...
Tomorrow I am going to Tarpon Springs for the Greek Independence Day parade. This year, sadly, it won't be with my ex like it was last year. But it should still be a good time, nonetheless.
Bye for now!

It sounds like you had a great day.
That sounds really tuff, do you think you are going to try to do that?
I love owls so much.
I hope you had a great time at the parade.
