I have just finished my first week at the oral surgeon's office.
I am worn the fuck out. I get there between 7:35 and 7:45 in the morning, and usually don't leave until 5:30. There is SO MUCH to learn. I feel like a fucktard most days. I try to keep the mistakes to a minimum, but I still make them. The lady who has been training me, Mary, is like an Asian (from Trinidad) version of my Aunt Catherine. Sometimes I feel like I can't do anything to make her happy with me, so I am happy when I get her approval. I like the job, but I'm still in that wierd awkward learning stage, and I'm worried that I'm not learning fast enough.
I've had some compliments from patients, though, and they've made their way back to my office manager. Hopefully that will be enough to keep me going. I am making twice the money in a week now that I made at the gallery. Good for me.
Fridays are pretty much only surgeries (no consultations), so when the last patient leaves, everyone has a rum and coke. I think that is an AWESOME office policy. Good for us.
Colin and I are good - our vacation is in two weeks! We are staying at a bed and breakfast in Tarpon Springs for the weekend. King size bed and all the trimmings. I am SO excited. It's been forever since I've had a vacation, and I definitely need one. We are going to spend the weekend shopping and eating and sightseeing and fucking like bunnies.

We went to a few clubs and saw Love at the Mirage. It was a really good show if you like the Beatles.
