What could possibly be more terrifying than hearing about a drive-by shooting taking place 5 minutes away from my parents house? The small town I'm originally from is seriously taking a nose dive it would seem from all of the news articles I keep reading... The scariest was the kid that used to follow me around (innocent enough it seemed) being arrested for raping a girl last year... I'm glad that I got out of there when I did but mostly I hope my family and friends that are still there stay safe....
Moving on, I'm finally done with school for the year! I swear, I'm going to be a student until the day I die at this rate. Since I'm graduating really soon I've been trying to come up with some sort of game plan... which of course involves more schooling apparently. Once I finish up my theater degree I have several ideas:
1. There's a photography school in my area that I really want to go to. Its absolutely amazing but its a very intensive program and also a very expensive one. I'm not sure I can take a whole ten months off from working and not have bill collectors hiding in bushes waiting to tackle me. Yes, I imagine them hiding in bushes. Random, but that's what you're going to get at 2 in the morning when I'm stressing myself out over school. No matter what I want to find a way to do this, but I can't really imagine it being possible straight out of my current degree. I will find a way if I set my heart on it, this I promise. I can't imagine a career that I could possibly love more. I think of me with a camera in my hand and I feel whole
2. My original plan was to get a piercing apprenticeship. The great thing about being a photographer is that I can make that fit into my schedule since I would pretty much be freelance. I've talked to a few piercers about the field and it seems like something I would enjoy. Just an idea.
3. I've been looking into the possibility of a hair and makeup school; or maybe just classes if I can find them. I would love to be able to help out on set; be it a photo shoot, video, theater, or what have you. I feel like it would be really useful for my overall career goals. Once again, just an idea.
Basically, I'm not sure what to do. On the upside, the girl that I had a photo shoot with last month wants me to shoot her short film that she's doing for her theater thesis! I must be doing something right that people are seeking my skills out! This would be a great opportunity for me, so I'm pretty much stoked.
If anyone has any input to help out my decision, I'd love to hear it.
On a side note, I just had an idea for a set.
This is more of a reminder for me than anything else. I keep thinking up ideas and then forgetting them before I tell anyone. Yes yes, I'm kind of an airhead sometimes.
Night folks and stay safe!
