It's been a hell of a school year... and surprisingly I'm doing really well so far! I'm excited because I thought I was doing not so great... especially with all the classes I skip
But so far my 3.7 GPA is safe in every class except greek myth... *sigh* I guess I can't win them all.
So perhaps some of you have seen it on the news, but today and yesterday UMASS Amherst students had a strike/protest. The fees keep going up and the TA's keep getting screwed (among other issues)... I proudly can say that I was part of it! It was a really unique experience and although the cops showed up we kept it peaceful and no one was arrested thankfully. It felt really good to stand up for something that I believed. We've yet to win public hearings, but at least we've managed to get private. Better than nothing I suppose. Ironically though the chancellor sent out an e-mail to students about the strike saying that it was going to be business as usual, strike or no. The funny part? He decided to take the days of the strike off to go on vacation. Our theory? He was hiding under his desk as hundreds of students sat outside his door chanting. Yup, business as usual...
School aside, life has been pretty good. I've ran into some financial difficulties, but I'm sure they'll pass soon so it's not that much of a bother. It's just a cramp on my reading style! The concluding book of my favorite series The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind just came out this week... but I don't have the money to get it yet! Ahhhhh! Soon I hope, soon.
My weekend? DANE COOK on Saturday! That and my friends Ken and Wes should be visiting me on campus in about an hour or so. Can we say party? Yes, yes we can
just a random photo that I took last week that my dad really liked, he seems to think it looks like a hollywood headshot . I on the other hand just really like it
My poorly worded deviations aside, have a great weekend everyone!
