There's never a lack of things to do when you work in event planning. This past week we've been preparing for the concert we've planned for Sunday. Yesterday my coworker and I even went so far as to trek around the island taking photographs for one of the display booths(job description? what's that?). Everything seems to be coming together nicely though, which means that all the hard work we put in shouldn't go to waste... To be honest this will probably have the biggest turnout out of everything we've done so far. Exciting, but nerve wracking. All that's left is to tie up all the loose ends. And sound check, of course.
Which brings us to the weekend... which this week I think will encompass beaching, music, and some well deserved drinks (courtesy of a beautiful stranger, I hope?).
I also need to start to get my shit together and figure out a set list for my show at the end of this month. A friend of mine asked me to play at his film festival launch party. I may just back out, I've been so busy and I'm really not prepared. And he really didn't give me a lot of notice. I guess I'll figure it out by Sunday.
I also need to buy new pedals, 'cause all mine are in Toronto still. Along with...well... the rest of my gear.
I am really missing the city right now. I'm missing everything being at my fingertips or just a walk away, and people I connect with, and the freedom to go anywhere and do anything. This place is a prison, in it's own sugar coated picturesque way. It's quite sad really, that even paradise isn't perfect.
Well, San Francisco & a new tattoo are just around the corner, so I can look forward to that at least.
Signing off,
Mikki
Anyways, hope you get many a drink.
Nothing is perfect. I think it is better that way.
