FUUUUUCK, i had this blog all typed out then accidentally navigated away from the page. guess i'll start over.
here's a slow jam, to start. i recently discovered bon iver and have been listening to this song 500x/day.
i'm feeling cynical these days. seems there's no constant in life other than my cats alternating between meowing and cuddling. seems like i make plans just to see them get broken. what can i count on? NOTHING
i am looking forward for my upcoming trip to vancouver, though; it's my #1 love-city and i haven't been there in years!! so it's not all grousing on this end, just...partially.
rang in the new year at work. wore a fabulous outfit (cause for once we didn't have to dress in uniforms) and my coworker hasn't posted the photos on facebook yet, otherwise i'd share the delightful nature of my new wardrobe acqusition. work was a breeze, all the customers left by 12.30 so we had a couple drinks, bussed the restaurant, ate leftover desserts and took down the xmas decorations. i was home by 3 and had a glorious 9 hour sleep...a nice way to start the year, for sure.
here are 4 things i want right now
1.) a camera that takes video, too! even a webcam would be fine, but i'm a nerdbot running linux so who the fuck knows about that. i need to google that shit. i would love to make another cooking video but it's not happening without that motion-recorder.
2. & 3.) wireless remote & new lens for my camera
4.) usb mouse
yesterday i treated myself to a mini-shopathon at lush. i'm making a push toward buying more local & natural products so finding a foundation base mix there was a huge plus to my day (yay makeup!). i also got a shampoo bar, a huge tub of tasty-smelling lotion, and some bad ass giant samples of hair products.
today i meant to do a tonne of sewing, but i organised my photos into this nifty organiser box i bought, and got distracted by the internet, and uploaded a bunch of photos to flickr, and and and. but at least i sewed one thing, a cute little autumn leaf brooch.
photo-dump!
here i am making pyrohy/pierogy/pyrogy/etc last month. it was amazing. jess, rosha & i rolled out 150! SO DELICIOUS
jess, rosha & r's husband came home with me for christmas. it was delightful.
pepin is cute, and i like the light that my sheer red curtains cast in the morning.
here are my ever-reliable kitties. as i type this, henry is snoring. i love it so much. he and pepin are sleeping facing eachother, head to head, with paws draped across each other. they are sweet little friends. having two cats is like 9000x cuter than having just one.
my mobile studio workspace all set up for serious stitchin' (which definitely ensued)
a bee brooch i made (one of several pieces from that day)
walking to get people and cat food, frowning cause it was colder than -20c. fuck winter, man, but it doesn't seem as though i'm headed back to tropical climes anytime soon so i just better suck it up. upon realising that recently, i got some cute/functional winter boots, and a cute/functional winter coat. yep. accepting the inevitable. AND that's a new scarf i'm wearing as a babushka in this photo, because it was $10 at a boxing day sale.
and now it's 3 am, why do these things always take me hours to compose? these days, i'm usually up late sewing or fretting. what keeps you up late?
oh, and check this shit out: describe me in three words

I am also planning to move back to Vancouver by the end of next year, when I'm done with school! I plan to buy my first house in North Vancouver!
One of my biggest pet peeves is typing out a clever, creative and highly verbose blog and then accidentally deleting it. Now I copy and paste it into a notepad doc as I'm writing it so that I don't have to worry about it.
Also? I GET TO SEE YOU SOOOOOOON!!!! Eeeeeeee!
