Had a dream about die fuhrer, George W Bush, last night. I was trying to convince him that embryonic stem cell research is an important field, and should not be banned. Sheesh. Has my life become this boring? Even my dreams put me to sleep. I mean, they would, if I weren't already. I used to have awesome dreams. Being chased by the chupacabra, light saber battles with my father, talking cats, &c. And now my dreams could easily be confused with an episode of Meet the Press.
I wonder if this is what Dar Williams meant in her song "I have lost my dreams"? Which, incidentally, she apparently wrote while being Rolfed in New Paltz. Maybe it's something about this place.
Spent last Saturday in Saratoga Springs, at the Dance Flurry. Saratoga Springs went without electric power for a day or two last weekend, which added to the eighteenth century charm of the event. I have a strong sense of longing for the pre-electronic age; escaping the information society for a few hours was a great boon, and the power loss was the icing on the cake. Who'd've thought I'd become such a luddite in my old age?

That's pretty funny. My dad once had a dream of being on the wisconsin cheese board, which he described similarly.
