Ah yes! Just returned from another mirror lake adventure. Drove six and a half hours to the trail head. We began the hike at about nine at night. This is a necessity when each of our packs are about seventy pounds(mostly alcohol) and there is a nasty five mile hike ahead of us. We finally reached camp at about one in the morning and crashed hard. The dogs were kind enough to carry some of the beer in their packs. Fair enough for the dogs because they ate trout for the next three days. First day was nothing but heavy rain. Fun! second day we went for a swim and built our fishing raft of drunkeness. The water there is so cold your balls pretty much hang out your nostrils. From there on out it was sunny and the fishing was the best as it is every year. Most people never believe the fact that each of us can catch about 40 trout a day. Three types in there, cutthroat, brook, and greenback cutthroat. Very pretty fish. All in all we managed close to twenty miles of hiking, most fueled by booze. It was an epic time!
