- Mine is apparently a past in review. Five conversations in seven days have revolved around talking about the past; from earliest memories (and wondering when the shine wore away from childhood) to questioning a few decisions made months ago. I have to wonder where all this reviewing of past events will take me. Possibly nowhere. But in the current place I'm at (trying to decide on what path to take), reviewing where I've been seems to be a logical course.
- I was watching The Man With One Red Shoe this afternoon and was idly wondering why Lori Singer hadn't become a bigger star. Gorgeous woman with better than average acting range. The only other thing I've really enjoyed her in was VR.5 (anyone else remember that show? It lasted a single season on FOX and, predicably, ended in a cliff hanger that'll never be resolved), so maybe that speaks to why she never made it big. But I can't help but see that she's got a weird parallel going with Daryl Hannah. Both are tall, attractive blondes who were in romantic comedies in the mid-80s with Tom Hanks whose careers inexplicably never took off.
- I can't get the Simon & Garfunkle song "Cecilia" out of my head. Such a simplistic, annoyingly catchy song. Much like a lot of their songs, it's one that I can't help but feels it's a bit of a wasted song in that the setup to the story is interesting but they don't do anything with it.
