I’ve been so phenomenally lucky in my life, and all I’d ever hoped for was simply a drop dead gorgeous and sexy g.f. that also understood functional harmony backwards and forwards, and had discarded it in favor of moving as far past it as possible. also possessing an encyclopedic knowledge of both the American and British Experimental music traditions, as well as all of “free-jazz”, and indeed all other “good” music from every genre and idiom, including all “World Musics”. Oh, and it goes w/o saying she’d be extremely well read and love Charles Willeford just as much as, or even more than, Vladimir Nabokov. Apparently this was unrealistic, or at least I’ve just never gotten lucky in this one way. and to say I feel I’ve been cheated is an understatement of cosmic proportion, because I did/do have it all going on, in spades. Partly I admit that to some degree the fault lies w/moi. My most intense and serious relationship lasted for 5 years, from the ages of 14 to 19 (my g.f. was one year older, so 15 to 20). more on this later, gotta go walk my dog so I can get to playing ASAP!
