incidentally, the music written for this film was by Alfred Newman (winner of 9 academy awards for best score), the father of Thomas Newman, (nominated 15 times for best score!), who i’ve now worked with for over 40 years. the first 20 plus we worked in what had been his dad’s studio. for me, hallowed ground. as are of course all the recording studios in L.A. several of which are on the film studio lot’s; Sony (previously MGM), 20th Century Fox (where the scoring stage is called; “The Newman Scoring Stage”, Paramount’s “Scoring Stage M” (now long gone), Universal and Warner Brother’s.
