I do remember it like it was yesterday. I saw it on MTV and it blew me away. I reckon it has changed my listening habits since that fateful day... it opened me up to listening to lot's of different types of music and ideas.

The chances are that they're ok & i'm just being an old woman I guess, but I emailed both to let them know I'm concerned. Sounds like your friend made a good move in delaying her onward flight, even though she couldn't have known what would happen. Yay for that.

over just 5 days
oh well *thinks of the money*
gonna save any gigs til the new year i think as we still haven't moved yet
but we're gonna try and get in there before chrimbo, if it's ready - ( bloody builders )

I hadn't heard the one you just told me.
What is it with kids now? Perhaps I'm moving into 'angry old git' territory here but I can't remember incidents like these from when I was a teenager; they seem to be trying to outdo each other in terms of bullying. they seem to be becoming more & more creative & vindictive yet less civilised.
Agreed over those 40 kids suspended. I'm sure some of the kids were just curious but the guilty parties always plead 'innocence', don't they. As it was impossible to tell in that melee, especially after it was broken up, I think suspending all of those there was a fair response - & they'll think twice in future. At least twice (vague 'cos it was a long time ago ) when i was at school my whole class got detention because of one or two (who wouldn't own up & who weren't 'shopped'). There were rarely complaints from parents then.

Re your last comment - that's exactly the right message to send out (ie 'no compromise'), & good point about encouraging to get help: I don't know if that is put over at (enough) assemblies, but it should be.

new band is going alright...still very much getting off the ground with it all still. looking at getting a demo done in a few months time...so thats kinda cool. apart from that everything is same ol same ol.
