Had a great day shooting for a fitness coach in London for an article on running to work. Hopefully it will be in the Evening Standard

Other than that I'm starting to story-board for a book project on sex, sexuality, and gender; a collaboration between myself as photographer and leading psychotherapists as essays discussion a range of issues and dimension of sex, sexuality and, you

I'm a portrait photographer working on a book project about sex, sexuality, and gender. The book will bring together high-quality still-life and portrait photography and essays by experts in the field of psychotherapy and gender studies. The book will serve to open up and enrich a dialogue around many different aspects of sexuality, such as how sex workers experience themselves, men and women's ideas of...

Part of the great thing about being a portrait photographer is that you get to spend time with some really great people. I just did a shoot with a fantastic health and fitness coach, the head coach of Bright Hammer Fitness here in the UK.

As well as the usual tom-foolery it's always nice to engage in we had a chat about what it means

Meditation on Painting

When the brush touches the canvas is the mark it makes true? When I study someone and attempt to paint them, this is something I ask myself.

If truth is context bound then would the mark - the fast line of red, the plane of soft umber – have truth if it didn't relate to other marks? Would it be true if...

My interest in portraiture stems from my study of the contemplative tradition of Buddhism. This tradition, as well as others, speaks of an innate inner clarity and responsiveness. It's my goal to create pictures that communicate these qualities.

Been quiet so just a quick update to my friends on here.

I've been lent a Hasselblad camera by a friend in exchange for some lessons about digital cameras, and I'm having so much fun using it. It's just so beautiful to look down the lens on this thing! I'm going to a good Boxing gym soon to take portraits of the trainers there and...

They're beautiful cameras!
richardmunn:
@holley they really are lovely! Quite expensive to process the film so it really makes me think about each shot, which is a nice way for me to work. Have you used them much?

Hey Everyone, I hope you've been having a good Christmas.

I've been enjoying the time off with my lady, and am doing a yoga course up until 8pm New Years Eve; the last day we'll be fasting too, so a great way to start the year ahead.

Portrait work is on a rest period at the moment while a few things change for me, but...

Hey SG land, hope you're all well, wherever you are in the world.

I've just handed my notice in at work in order to work with portraiture full-time, which I'm looking forward to. Will be hard, but worth it. It also frees me up to study life-drawing and painting further, and continue my training as a yoga teacher.

Here are two photos that I'll be...

I've been thinking recently about Henri Cartier-Bresson saying that just because you take someone's picture, doesn't make it a portrait. It takes a keen eye to capture something deeply true about somebody in 1/60th of a second, but for me it's a worthwhile goal to aim for.

Thanks to everyone that's been saying hello, I really appreciate you taking the time :) Love to you
