I'm in the process of research for book project I'm putting together around sex, sexuality, and gender. The photographs will be taken by myself, and the book will include essays from leading psychosexual therapists commenting on themes raised by the imagery.
The hope is that, like Blake's poetry, the visual and textual will evoke each other and give people a work that engages them in lots of way around this important topic.
In my reaserch I've found Helmut Newton, who I think does a great job of bringing something of the inner-life to focus in his nudes work. So many of his pictures are suggestive, sensual, voyeuristic, and highly-charged. They are also dramatic and story-telling, so I imagine he was inspired by film-makers, though who knows if that's actually true.
