Hey SG land, I'm wanting to touch bases. How have you been?
I'm enjoying exercising outdoors now, which is mainly including running around and climbing trees. Having done that I now know why orangutangs are so strong! It's tough.
Something I'm REALLY excited about is leaving work at the end of the year, and working full-time as a photographer, and art student. What I'm really fired up about is creating portraits that convey presence, so to kick that all off I'm flying out to Cali, and taking portraits of therapists, coaches, healers, yoga teachers etc. to support them in attracting the kind of clients that are a fit with them and their work. I'm so excited to meet the people and some old friends, plus I love taking the train in America (which beats the piss out of the train in winter in the UK!)
I'm launching my site www.richardmunn.com and I'm enjoying supporting people with theirs. A friend is a psychosexual therapist and we're going to start a podcast series for men and women, with a different subject each podcast. I'm really wanting to see more of this work out in the world, and more people supported in having deep, intimate, supportive relationships :)
I just got done reading Martin Gayford's book Man With a Blue Scarf, about his time sitting for Lucien Freud painting his portrait. It's a fantastic read, and something he said really sticks out. When the portrait was finished a picture was taken of portrait, artist, and sitter, and when Martin's wife saw that picture she said "the painting looks more like you than you do in this photograph." Pretty amazing statement about portraiture!
OK guys, I'm off to take my orchid to the bath with me (they love the steam), and am looking forward to hearing from you all.
