yeah, i think that it goes both ways. it must be annoying to any culture to have their sacred or simply meaningful symbols appear on the bodies of american teenagers - i would be pissed - and it also seems stupid to me that these people adopt these symbols, when they really have no idea what they mean. i mean, some dictionary tells you it means bravery or whatever, and that's it. you don't know the history behind it or anything, and you claim it's meaningful. for all you know, some guy drew a bunch of squiggles and claimed it meant something. if you want to something inked on your body that means something, you ought to draw it yourself, or have someone important to you draw it, i dunno.
happy b-b-q day does seem like a much better alternative. although if you think about it, the 4th of july is still an admirable day historically. i mean, i likewise am ot pleased with america at the moment, and if you look at the 4th of july as purely an expression of patriotism, then yeah, it's not so hot, but if you really think about what was going on at the time, and what is being celebrated, it's not that bad of a holiday.

i guess i need to wake up early tomorrow to get ready for a hurricane.rained all day today, bands from the storm. i am worried because i was 3 days late paying my flood insurance. now i have a 30 day lapse in coverage on my apt. building. gotta make the groceries tomorrow and get supplies.
