This week's Blog Homework answers the question If I Could Invent Something, What Would it Be?
I want you to take a moment to look at your smart phone screen and your laptop.
What do you see? No, not the Suicide Girls home page. I mean your phone or laptop's battery indicator.
Now, look for a similar battery indicator in your car.
Wait, there isn't one. And I ask, what the actual hell?
Somehow, despite decades of motoring innovation, there's no dashboard indicator showing the level of charge in the car battery.
Somehow, despite decades of motoring innovation, there's no dashboard indicator showing the level of charge in the car battery.
I don't mean the battery display in an electric or hybrid vehicle. I mean the battery in a regular vehicle.
The only way you know your car battery is about to die is when you turn the ignition and the car won't start.
That's bad enough when it happens at home. When it happens in the middle of nowhere, that's worse
So, my invention would be a system that monitors the charge in your car battery and displays the charge level on your dashboard.
I don't understand why car manufacturers don't already have such a system.
Fancy European cars have tyre pressure gauges. High performance sports cars tell you how many Gs you pull while cornering but they don't tell you when the battery is nearly flat?
It's just not right.
