So because @pistache requested and she is my Brizilian best friend. This was extremely challenging for me to choose just 5, I am a huge fan of strong females which is half the reason I subscribe to the Suicide Girls site, this place is full of strong women. So here goes my top five top female lead movies.
Number 1
Aliens the movie was probably my first exposure to a strong female lead and has more or less set the archetype ,As I was a child when I first saw this film ,of what a female lead should be like, intelegent, strong, and calculating, very much the Fox.
Number 2
For my number 2 I would have to go with Bridget Fonda in Point of no Return. This movies includes one of the most profound quotes that I have employed in my life as advice to Maggie Hayward(Bridget Fonda) from Amanda played by Ann Bancroft. " I never did mind the little things" and they are all little things.
Number 3
My third pick would definitely be Princess Leia from the 6th episode of Star Wars played by Carrie Fisher. In this ; the last of the original 3 movies she is confident, sexy, calculating, and compassionate. Truly the Fox incarnate. Please note that aside from these movies I have been super infacuated with Asoka Tano in the Clone Wars series her story and development in that series is simply epic and as Anikin Skywalkers only true Jedi apprentice she is or has the ability to be as powerful or more then Anikin could ever be.
My 4th pick Would definitely be Uma Thurman in Quintin Tatatino's kill Bill volumes 1 and 2. I love the development of the story and what she goes through to overcome adversity. In this series of two she displays honor, feminine energy, patients, and streingths in a variety of ways. She is truly an inspiration to all women with her maternal instincts presenting themselves at the end to show an extremely well rounded character.
Las but not least would be Zoe Saldana in Avatar, I love the themes in this movie about nature and preserving nature as the native people battle minors for control of their home. Neytiri played a native females who's doubt in masculinity is very warranted and I believe that theme is relevent in our society across-the-board. She played a powerful, athletic, fearce warrior with an inquisitive side that showed a desire to learn and grow. The growth and spiritually is really what enchants memwith her character in this film.
Trust me there are many more I could add but I am limited on time at the moment. Enjoy @pistach and any others who happen on to this blog.
