I'm reading this:
right now and it is pretty damn good. There is a movie being written currently, but I'm skeptical about how well it will turn out, especially because films these days have to update everything to make it shiny and fast with seizure-inducing cut scenes (Gi Joe, for example). This whole book is about real people's experiences, and it seems almost certain that they will turn it into the usual Hollywood bullshit adaptation. Still, I'm hoping they don't make the zombies run too fast and that they manage to focus more on the human side of things than the tits and ass side.
If it's one thing we know, it's that zombie movies sell. I mean if House of the Dead, a movie based on a video game with ACTUAL PARTS OF THE GAME thrown in can recoup production costs, there's no reason a best seller-based film like this needs to pander to make money. But with Marc Forster directing there's a good chance we'll see another Quantum of Solace rather than another Finding Neverland. I'd say it's fifty-fifty at this point. I'll knock on wood and hope there are some wide angle shots of menacing zombie hordes to go with the flashy, chopped-up gun battles.
Back to the main point though, the book is fantastic so far. If you like zombies, and you like authors like Crichton, Clancy, and L'Amour, this book is for you. Even if you don't like those authors and you just like zombies, read this book. And pick up the Zombie Survival Guide while you're at it. They make a great coffee table couple.

Anyways. I read that book less than a month ago... I finished it in one day. I didn't sleep.
Let me know what you thought of it.
