I want this:
The problem is, at $3,500.00, I won't be able to eat for like... the next year. It's been way too long since I've played a piano and it's making me cranky. When I get to Australia, one of the first things I'm going to look into is turning the extra bedroom into a music studio with a real piano. That is assuming, of course, I can find a two-bedroom in my price range in my neighborhood. But I'm tenacious.
The drama at work has become petty. They're trying to find loopholes in my contract to reduce my hours just to be spiteful. It would be funny if it wasn't fucking with my livelihood. Why spend so much effort to be this mean when I'm about to leave your country forever? *sigh*
An interesting article about Korea and their insanity:
They're worse than the U.S. now, and that's BAD.
"South Koreans work more, sleep less and kill themselves at a higher rate than citizens of any other developed country, according to the OECD. They rank first in time spent online and second to last in spending on recreation, and the per capita birthrate scrapes the bottom of world rankings."
Basically it sucks to be Korean. It's no wonder my bosses have their panties all up in knots all the time. As with any culture, there are always exceptions, so you PC mothereffers can rest easy. But overall, they don't know how to relax. So they drink. Heavily. Every day. My street usually smells like puke by about 9:00pm.
I'm excited to get to somewhere new, not just because I'm tired of Korea, but because I like new things. And, in all honesty, it will be nice to get somewhere that speaks English as a first language. Korean always reminds me of pigeons in heat. It's a very whiny language in common speech. It can also be very pretty when spoken in theater and things, but the everyday version... I thought L.A. had it bad.
Enough bitching for the time being. My soul is tired is all. I've had a few really nice phone conversations the last couple days though, so that's kept my spirits up. Now I need to go find some lunch and get some real writing done.
