IT'S OFFICIALLLLL!!!!!!! I got my visa yesterday. I have to hand it to the Australian government. They are some honest, efficient mother fuckers. The website claimed it would take 48 hours from the time they received all my documents. Taking into account the fact that I submitted my x-ray on a Friday, they were true to their word almost to the minute. Tuesday at 1:30pm, almost exactly 48 business hours after I sent everything in, they emailed me to say I had been approved. Thank you Australia. The U.S. would have fucked that up something big and taken two weeks and had me stressed out waiting on last minute everything.
Once I got the visa, I bought my plane ticket. $558.00 US. Not bad at all when you consider my work will give me the cash for a return ticket to Phoenix, which is closer to $1300.00. That should help make up for some of the money the screwed me out of. It's really happening and I feel so much better now that all the hard stuff is over with. I was dizzy most of yesterday because it was just such a relief. I've never been high, but I imagine it feels something akin to what I was experiencing.
And the Korean Won is steadily getting stronger so if that continues it just puts more and more money in my pocket when I exchange over to Aus. dollars. If all goes well I'll be able to live for a month or two without work if I have to.
I found a few places near where I want to live that look pretty good. There is one in particular, a two-bedroom for $240.00 a week that is super close to where I want to be. I'd like to see some photos of the inside, but from what it sounds like, it would be ideal for setting up a recording/photo studio in the spare bedroom.
I can't tell you how excited I am to be going down there. I'm nervous as hell to see her again, but more excited than anything else. It's been nearly six months. Here's hoping for the best, hey?
