Not a whole whole lot. I'm getting ready to go to Portland next week for a long weekend to see Joel graduate and spend some time with other friends. I'm also tying up loose ends for going back to school next semester (I'm actually doing it) at the university here. Surprisingly enough, it has nothing to do with English, instead I'm going backwards and getting an associates in the culinary arts. It's something that I've always secretly been interested in, but have just discovered I'm pretty talented when it comes to the food. It's also really cheap. Other than that, just passing time with cute boys and good friends. I'm enjoying being young for once.

It sounds like you're doing very well. I'm also impressed that your going to be teaching and stuff like that. My one true vice is watching The OC and Seth's character always reminds me of you.

I was flipping through an old journal this afternoon and came across a picture of you that had been in that disposable camera you had sent me. It made me smile.

we don't have a deadline, or a wordcount. not yet. for the first issue we were hoping to look around untill we found a few stories that we really liked, to kind of get it off to a good start and define it.
we're looking for stuff that's outside of the "hardcore" sci-fi world but still borrowing from it. vonneget is sort of the center of the bulls eye. not techno-fetish, no intergalactic politics, something with a bit more humanity and substance than "wouldnt it be cool if in the future ______."
it should be able to pass as hip, and suit an audience a bit more diverse than the usual sci-fi crowd. (not that i have a probelm with single overwieght bearded men. some very good freinds of mine fit that description. and i'm just a couple buritos away myself)

I played FFXI when it came out, and was out of it within two months. WoW is leaps and bounds better. Plus, it sounds like the game for you. It has a EXP rest builder - the more time you are logged out of the game, the higher the bonus builds up. So, in the time it takes someone to level up, if you dont log into the game for three or four days, you can do it in a fifth of the time. That way, casual gamers can get a chance for the really cool high level shit as well.

Agreed. So many people whom have no clue, or are exactly the thing that a person (like Burroughs or Thompson) hated, are the ones now waving the banner and preaching what they believe to be the gospel.

Then again it doesnt take much to make me think the worst of people; I hate them.

Totally agree with you, it seemed for awhile there they figured out that after CTHD that as long as they stayed near that formula, they could make some bank in america. You should see the trailer on apple.com for the movie, looks very funny.

I've been thinking about the "Last to see them alive" thing. I actually have a great idea. I'm going to try to write something prior to the 14th. I've been pretty busy, but the idea I have is oh so good.

i realized i need a word program on this computer. skimped out on it when i ordered the computer thinking id never use it.
id like to try this to see if i can do it and come up with anything interesting. i mean really, i havent written since i was 18 or 19. i may have lost it. and god, i cant even imagine what has become of my grammar in all these years of online posting and journal writing
