Unanswered questions
Fate and destiny, words useless to me
As it was then, it is once again
Who dictates fate? What makes destiny?
A thought of a man trying to gain control
A definition that can not be
Making the ethereal, tangible
Idiotically trying to grasp divine knowledge
Knowledge that man can never understand
And here we lay, after the joy and carnage
A bittersweet story, happiness and tragedy
I chuckle at the memory of it all, the sheer mess of it all
Two lovers drowning in an ocean within a small glass
But its over now, and now only unanswered questions remain
You try to decipher a mind that is as complex as your notions
Notions as volatile and useless as fate and destiny
Emotions so hard to define as hatred and love
And as we hold the bleeding daggers, I let go
I let go and I run, run as my heart bleeds out for you
Run as your heart bleeds out from the wound I caused
And as I run the wound is closing, and closing fast
Such pointless notions, such foolishness
The truth is cold and cruel, ruthless and unkind
Yet I know, I know that is what you seek
And as the scar fades I turn and look back at you
You are a shadow, a figment of my forgotten dream
And you cry and bleed, you seek what only I can give
You seek either of the things I can give, and it drives you mad
Cruel and cold, calculating and silent. I back away and turn
I don't run anymore, I don't look back either.
The truth settles in like your knife did in my chest
Cold and hard, fast and merciless, it drives itself home
Though by far, I enjoy this much, much more
And now I am gone, you are no more to me
But to you I will always leave the doubt
Unanswered questions will haunt you
For I am too kind to say the truth or lie
Fate and destiny, words useless to me
