*Exhausted* The trip was excellent! Aside from the newly introduced mosquitos, there was mucho cerveza, cube libres, margaritas and mojitos! Sat on the beach, ran around shopping and managed to get several new Day of the Dead Catrina dolls. One had her arms removed in flight but I have glue to mend her. My camera broke with three days left, but I did get some nice pics I'll be posting later. We stayed at the La Mission next to the beach and I kept hunting out the hotels stray cat 'Lucky' to feed her treats.
The exhausted, however, is not from the happiness of the trip and jet lag. They kept a member of our party at customs, trying to take his fishing poles away that he was allowed to take into Mexico. That held him up, meanwhile the airport security is yelling at us to get on the flight, it's leaving. >.< From there our connecting flight was canceled, no rent-a-cars for 50 miles, no buses that weren't shut down due to our snowy sleet, our luggage lost and Delta airlines telling us to pretty much piss off, they weren't helping us. All they would do was set one or two of us up on the next flight Wednesday (which was also canceled), the third person out on Thursday, and leave me with no hotel to stay at to fly out Friday or Saturday. This was all on Tues. We waited for our luggage for 3 hours, sat in a corner from 7pm till 3 am deciding at last to go to a Perkins by the greyhound station (we didn't know they were shut down as their site still said buses active). $50 into the cab ride, and our taxi driver took us to the wrong place, left the meter running to call another taxi as he didn't speak English and didn't know where to go. Finally at Perkins, they were awesome and let us sit with coffee and talked with us till 6am, when we found out Greyhound was down.
Finally booked a shuttle that was very helpful and hauled ass back to the airport, by way of another taxi driver who didn't understand English again, and brought us to the wrong place, and almost put us in the ditch. We had a half hour to meet them, I think we made it and walked down to the right place maybe with 2 minutes to spare.
FINALLY! On our way home, the weather had worsened alot, snow, sleet, and sheer ice. For anyone ever needing a shuttle, I am recommending you the Skyline Shuttle Bus. That man got us home in an amazingly short amount of time and should get a fucking medal for his ability to drive in that shit.
So now, we are watching Top Gear, with sammiches curled up in bed with the kitty and can rest after our horrible 48 hour adventure. XD
