Today was a good day, it was nice and warm out, work went well, and i found this kick ass train bridge with a 50ft drop to a lake right behind my house! i was so excited when i found it, its definately gonna be fun to have drunk summer parties there. heres a pic from there.

Unless you're going to buy new, I'd test drive them both stock and see which ones "feels" better for you.
Then find a good low mileage model (under 60k) and then start ripping parts off them.
For about 4k you can get 230hp to the wheels on an R52... and another 20hp or so with an Aquamist kit.
The SC'd 1.6s are prone to detonation... go figure huh? Crappy badly designed old school head, and not in a good way.
Not sure about the Turbo models though... aren't many of those being tuned up around these parts.
Supposedly there's a European map that'll allow for more boost and gives you like 30hp?
But they drive very differently... the R52 and the R56. See which one you like... both can easily hit 250hp.
