for several weeks now we have been dissecting a cat in my vertebrate anatomy lab. every week we go in for 3-4 hours and dissect away...its a bit of a process, and i always come home smelling of evil death and preservation fumes. it's gross. anyway, i have my lab exam on tuesday, and its a bell ringer and its going to be fucking hard. so i'm sitting here studying my cat skeleton and muscles eating cookies and drinking coffee, and i flip the page and there was something stuck to one of the pages of my lab manual and i go down to pick it up and i remember what one of my lab ta's said at the beginning of class, "if by the end of this thing you don't have little pieces of cat stuck to your books, you didn't work hard enough".
fucking gross shit.
fucking gross shit.
That's horrifying! I suppose one gets used to dissecting dead things.. but when it comes home with you, yikes!
I had to dissect a foetal pig in highschool biology... I never got used to the smell/sight/thought... but hey, that's probably one reason I didn't choose biology for post secondary..
