so i got a bit of a promotion today...
for the next 6 months i will be trained into being a supervisor at my work.
it is kind of exciting the thought of being a boss/leader type person...
the only crappy thing is i have to get a forklift licence and pay for it myself (they used to pay for it but people kept leaving when they got it or some shit) and after looking around online its going to cost me like $700+
oh well! new challenges and new responsibilities i guess!

Na na na na na na na na LEADER!
congrats on the promotion.
But being promoted to a position that requires a forklift ticket, and then having them tell you to pay for it yourself is shite. it might even be illegal (well probably not, but you know, its still shite) i would think they would be interested in claiming the training costs
If they are worried about you jumping ship, then offer them a deal. See if they will agree to you paying for it upfront, and then if you are still around 6-12 months later, they will repay it for you.
At the very least, you should be getting paid to attend the course (ie do it on work time)
forklifts are fun -= i got my ticket when i was about 15 - so before i had a car licence. it made me good at reversing, since a forklift essentially drives in reverse to a car
