i'm back in the saddle again; aloha kids, i hope ALL is well for everyone! it's been almost 7 months since my l4-s1 spinal fusion & i am slowly but surely getting my strength back, which is a VERY painful process, but totally worth it, at least in my case. i'm no longer waking up with my right foot cramping underneath itself on a daily basis, which was happening for about 5 years prior to the surgery; i have woken up to a few the morning after a really tough physical therapy workout, & even had a few during workouts, but it only seems to be happening then, which is great! i also have about 25-30 lbs of post op weight to shed, which all seems to have gone to my stomach, but people say i look better somehow, (wtf ever!).
this past week i got to see bob dylan here on maui!!! i tattooed my lower lip (bite me) & right ear (my dog, phoenix's, tag #). i finally stopped taking the heinous pain meds they had me on, oxycontin & oxycodone, & switched over to suboxone, which is supposed to help people get off ALL opiates, including heroin, methadone, codeine, etc, & will hopefully be off this before the end of this year; it's been over 5 1/2 years now, believe it, or not...¿!?!
i've been missing ALL of my friends on here, but have been working hard on getting myself back to whatever normal is/ever was for me, heh! i've gone through a LOT of depression from all of the meds, not to mention the pain, stress, anxiety & everything else that has come along with my lower back injury, hence my online sabbatical, but i'm trying REALLY hard to move forward, baby step by baby step, & leave that awful past experience as far behind me as possible; patience truly is a virtue!
i'm trying to start living my life again, finally, & i want you all to be a part of it again as well, so please catch me up as to what all's been going down around these parts, besides the obvious layout design & options; how are all of your lives going, & when are you going to come visit beautiful maui...¿
much aloha,
~repus
