so i had my first, and hopefully last, hearing date for my workers comp case. it definitely seemed to go in my favor, which it should, and the formal decision will be mailed out within 2 months, so i get to wait a lil bit longer. at that point, both parties have 20 days to appeal that decision, if they don't agree with the terms. i just want to put this all behind me and move on with my life, but i am still technically partially disabled, after 5 months. i go to see my treating physician again next week, and hopefully my herbal doctor again in a few weeks to pick up my medical marijuana card...! that last bit is the only good thing that has come out of this whole situation...
last friday night we had a stuffed luck party at my house. it was like a pot luck, but you had to bring something stuffed. we had crab stuffed mushrooms, snickers stuffed muffins, stuffed olives, stuffed bell peppers, bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos, pigs in a blanket, chicken enchiladas, chicken flautas, beef chimichangas, bbq sloppy joe stuffed perrogis (sp?), ice cream sandwiches and my personal contribution, stuffed jello shots...:

i cubed up watermelon, honeydew melon and cantaloupe in separate containers, and then filled them all with cap't morgan's rum. after soaking overnight, i had 3 different flavors of rum and 4 flavors of jello to play with. grape jello got the watermelon, lime jello got the cantaloupe, strawberry jello got the honeydew melon and blueberry jello got a mixture of all 3. i had to make the jello shots and let them begin to congeal before i could add the actual fruit in them, but it worked beautifully, and they were strong as hell. each individual jello shot was at least 4 shots of rum with the fruit and the jello mixture.
now we are trying to figure out the theme for our next party. all them have been a successful hit, with the exception of our stripper pole/gangsta rap video on the beach a few weeks ago. our friend constructed a portable and stable stripper pole for us to set up on a public beach. we asked everyone to wear gangster attire and also hod 4 cases of old english 800, ewww. well picked a bad location on a bad day, as a new timeshare was having an open house right behind us while we were getting started. their security guard said we upset the owners and they were going to call the cops if we didn't leave. so we poured our beers into plastic cups and started to move the party about 200 yards down this public beach, away from in front of their property.
we set it back up and within an hour, the cops were there. they were really cool and didn't ticket anyone. they said we technically did break the law, as you're not supposed to have alcohol on the beach, even though everyone does anyways out here, and that we needed a building permit for the pole. they said they would much rather be attending our party instead of asking us to leave, as it looked like a lot of fun. then the state's dept of land and natural resources police showed up. they felt the same way about the situation and didn't ticket anyone either, as we were almost fully packed up and ready to go by that point. so we didn't get to film footage all day for a rap video as planned, but next time we're going to get our permit and hire the police as our security. here's a pic of my friend chrissy trying out the pole...:

we definitely have great times out here, so let me know if you're going to be visiting my island, and you can join me in some of this craziness...
aloha.
