One of the many curious byproducts of the late unpleasantness 'round here is that new paradigms have developed to basic things: laundry, making groceries and in great part advertising.
Given that many of our much smaller population still have no phone, cable, mail, newspaper or in some cases even electricity, and these people still need to know how to oh say, find an electrician or what restaurants are open, we have one again become a community of roadside advertising. Think Burma Shave, but without the rhyming. Unfortunately those sign cost $2 or so a pop and tend to get lost in the poppy fields of identical signs in choice locations, so some folks have started getting creative. Ads on 4 x 8 sheets of plywood or sheetrock, ads on debris piles, even ads on the sides of abandoned refrigerators.
Yesterday, though I saw my favorite:
"STUMP
STUMP
STUMP!
Removal"
Stapled to the side of a 700 pound cypress stump.
