I just couldn't stomach spending another Wednesday closing down a bar. Especially a hometown one. Fuck that noise.....
I went tonight in lieu of my boss's (who happens to be a good friend of mine) belated birthday. It was going alright until we shared the billiard area with this egotistical prick I went to school with. This guy, was trying to tell me he made 35k a year being a local band. BULLSHIT ! My dad and brother, who are in the same band, make way less than that. It was safe to say he was killing our buzz. Then to top it off, one of my bullies from my school days was talking to my best friend's girl. Thankfully I was not recognized. I had no intention or the want to be civil towards this person. At that moment, my boss and I left.
That's the thing about hometown bars. You go there, wanting to have a good time. Instead, you end up running into people you forgot even existed. And trust me, there was a reason why you forgot their existence. I am just done. I wish some of my local friends had more enjoyable hobbies. This is why I venture into the city on the weekends. Fuck this small town routine. I mean don't get me wrong, I will never forget who I am or where I came from by any means. But at the same time, I will not become it. Plain and simple.

The good part about my day was seeing "Gremlins" on the big screen ! 11:30 in the am showing. It was just me and my brother. It was awesome ! I love seeing old movies in a theater. Anytime I get the chance I go see a old movie in the theater. The Gremlins where a little bit scary on the big screen. You don't realize how creepy they are until you see the film in the theater. You also don't realize how beautiful Phoebe Cates is until you see one of her film on the big screen. I wish she still did films
After our cinematic adventure, we went to the mall. Despite the fact I've been off, I treated myself to Starbucks and cheap finds at FYE. After all, it's the little things in life.
Well, I am going to get off here and the new South Park episode. This one is suppose to be really funny. I hope !
