She has no right to do this to me!Do you guys remember Carla? Well, for the newer friends here, I worked with Carla. Now I don't believe in love at first sight, but the first time Carla walked into the office, I knew that she was going to mean something to me. Anyway, it takes me three months to actually talk to her, and I find out she's really cool. We talk, have a lot in common, start spending a lot of time together. Never really get romantically involved, because there's this ex she's hung up with (and still living with... long story) but the point is we got really close, sharing things neither of us had shared with anyone before, and I fell, basically, in love.
Last summer, I get a better job offer and make plans to leave work, but before I do, I want to use up my vacation time. Carla suggested that we go to Paris together, and I of course jumped at the chance. The week before we left, she sprung the news on me that she had decided to move to Seattle, and would be leaving two weeks after we got back from Paris. I felt awful, but she said that there was no one in Boston she wanted to keep in touch with more than me, and that she wanted me to come see her in October in Seattle, and all this. We went to Paris, had the time of my life. I bought most of her dinners, rubbed her back and feet for hour each night... it was almost perfect. (Only the lack of sex made it imperfect.) On the way home, we talked about the fact that she would be busy getting ready to move in the next two weeks, and wouldn't have much time, but to make sure we got a chance to say good-bye, we set a date to go out for a fancy dinner the following saturday, the night before she left.
And that was it. After I dropped her off at her apartment, I never saw her again. She stopped answering the phone, stopped returning my messages, and stood me up for our date, moving away without saying goodbye. All I ever heard from her again was a short message in July saying that she might come back to Boston, and if I wanted to see her, I should call and set something up. I never returned that.
Anyway, all this setup is for one final point. She just called me. I didn't answer, but she left a message saying she was in her car headed for Boston and really wanted to see me. This is completely unfair. She has no right to do this to me. She hurt me. A lot. The last thing in the world that I need is to see her again. My feelings for her are no less weak, but now they're mixed with anger and hate. If she chose to leave me out of her life, that's her decision, but don't try to worm your way back into mine.
