So it's been a rather exciting time since I last was on here... amazing since it's only been about 24 hours. Lots of things happened... I went to dinner and Wicked with Branden... which was amazing in itself. Not only was it a fantastic food-gasm (if you're ever in San Francisco and want to go to fancy fusion seafood go to the Market Street Grill at the Hotel Whitcomb- ordering the mussels with truffle oil is an absolute MUST!) but the show was simply... stunning. I cried, I got all over tingles from the show stoppers, I busted out laughing, and applauded like a crazy fool- all in the middle of the show! If your thing is musical theatre, Wicked is a must-see. 'Nuff said.
When I got home from Wicked, I found out that Dan had crashed his motorcycle. He's ok, just a little beat up. His bike is also alright, except he's got to re-work something with the back break, I think. Either way, I suddenly had appreciation for his cheesy all-leather getup that he insists on riding with. I always understood why he wears it when he rides, but because he's very much the quiet geek-next-door, I always had a giggle when he gets dressed up in black leather to ride. But now I'm very thankful for that black leather, cause otherwise his face and body might not be so pretty anymore.
And that's not the end of the excitement. I had work excitement as well (that is yet unresolved). One of the lead merchandisers on the kids floor ended up getting let go due to attendance issues. This leaves a space available for someone to move up (possibly) and get a benefits package. I was a supervisor at my old store, with the lovely benefits package and all that goes along with it, but I lost that when I went to the big store because they didn't have any positions available at that level. So if I'm able to work my way into a full time lead merchandiser position on my floor, that would be, well... simply amazing. keep your fingers crossed, k?
crazy tings goin' down...
**update**
apparently the other lead merchandiser that works on the kids floor got terribly upset today (perhaps because the other one got fired?) and walked out and quit. As much as I loved working with them... god I hope this means I get a promotion. I could use the extra pay and benefits.
