so this weekend I took notice that another of my friends went in to the sad state of 'grey'. slowly the first of those I met are walking down different paths in life. i wish them all the best. those of you who have stayed, thanks. and to those of you who are newer friends, thanks as well.
last weekend was the manditory office christmas party. i say mandiatory because unless you are on your death bed, they give you a tremendous guilt trip for not attending. its like, "we all gave up an evening and put in time, why couldn't you?" but it is kind of nice to see people out of the office and act more like themselves. plus we usually get our holiday bonuses at that time. this year, the boss gave everyone PDA's. they also gave a cash bonus. i was a little impressed. but i couldn't think of a need for the PDA. so i took it back and got store credit. but i was curious to see what other model PDA's were out there. i found a very cool one for a relatively low price. it is the Palm T/X. besides being a PDA, it does a lot more. now its no ipod, but it does store mp3's on a removable SD card. sound output is either through headphones or a small speaker in the back. and it plays video. it also does wifi and bluetooth. i've only spent about 6 hours playing with it and so far i have the basics down. the instruction manual is 691 pages in PDF format so i think i have a few more hours of tinkering before i find the full potential of it.
more traveling this week and the next. the weather has gotten above freezing, so i'm hoping it won't be too bad.

I kicked ASS in my wine course though.
the restraunt owners have two places...we, the midtown one. are apparently the hillbilly cousins. They are having a party for Three Oaks and Paulett's at Oaks--but didn't tell any of the Paulett's staff. How do we find out? One of our cooks works both places. we've decided to show up with blacked out teeth and old english 40's.
