Sometimes in life, sacrifice is necessary. I must often give up that which I want the most in order to remain true to my calling.

And it is for that reason that I find myself here, awaiting the minister's arrival so that my dad can get married. I can think of a thousand places I would rather be. I don't know if I'll be able to keep my mouth shut when the priest asks if there are any objections. But I won't run, and I won't be made to shun the presence of my father just because of some petty little girl that somehow found her way into his heart.
