I'm very touched by the kindness of people, both friends and strangers. People that read my journal know that I've been having a very trying time with my home life. My dad has chosen a woman he's known for barely a year or two over me in who he'd rather have in his life. The fact that it's time for me to go out and get on my own is irrelevant to that choice. But it has become more necessary because of that choice. The job that I have now is a temp to hire position that I really hope turns permanent. I'm a loan processor at a mortgage company that deals almost exclusively with law enforcement officers, which I hope to be one someday. But the day I started my job, my dad stopped doing what little he'd been doing while I babysat my little sisters for him. Somehow I'm expected to make it about 15 miles every day with no gas and pretty much expected to hunt for my own food because I don't get paid with money I can use for another two weeks. So what happens? My best friend Jen gives me money for gas. Just like that. And then out of the blue, someone I don't even ask, who I've known for 4 days just hands me 25 dollars and tells me to use it to eat for the next however many days until I get a paycheck I can use for such things. Just wow, man.
