last night bethany's mom took me out to a nice dinner. she was in boston for some meeting have to do with bayer, and then decided that it would be nice to see me, so we went out. it was actually not as awkward as it could have been, and it was particularly funny in a lot of ways. also, the food was amazing, and for me, free. its really interesting to see how differently she and her daughter view the same events, and its interesting to see how her being mormon tempers some of her ideas and not others. i mean, shes not a complete moron, and she's a good mormon, but shes not insane about it. in any case, it was certainly way more entertaining and delicious than it was awkward.

When you do get to the ER, word of advice: if you stick a big fucking scalpel and cut around in somebody when it's been anesthetized and afterwards ask, "Do you want anything for the pain" and they say "no" cause it doesn't hurt and they're tough...GIVE IT ANYWAY. HOLYSHIT WAS I HURTING AFTERWARDS...
