On our way out of the theatre, we were met by a group of dress-uniformed servicemen on their way in... they saw my father's "Korea Veteran" cap and all stopped to greet him, thank him and shake his hand... he was very pleased with that! And then I took him to Lalla's for a "perfect" Bond martini (and crabcakes). He thanked me for a wonderful day about six times on the way back alone... and now, inevitably, the experience has been forgotten. But I wouldn't have missed it for anything... it's something for ME to remember, too.
It was also nice to take my son to visit our horse friends again... and they always love their carrots and apples!
My daughter Rebecca is delighted with her new haircut and is grateful for the kind words you expressed on my previous blog. Oh, and my other daughter? Cadavre has a birthday coming up... more on that later.
More headaches with the unemployment office AND my background check paperwork, but THAT at least has come together and I'll be dropping it off on Wednesday or Thursday. So, so much riding on this... color me nervous.
AND color me frustrated. I'm supposed to appear in THE SPEED OF DARKNESS for the Stardust Playhouse next month, and rehearsals were supposed to have started tonight. Except that everybody else has conveniently dropped out. And the show might not happen. And I gave up AVENUE Q at the Paper Wing specifically to DO this show. I'm not sure whether or not I have the right to be angry--it's not the director's fault...
But in the meantime, here's a picture of Pesky. Because I really like her.
So shall we see what's new in the world of SETS?
Former Hopeful Friendlies, as always, are in abundance... they include Rourke...
Ramonne...
Apollo...
...and a scorching new multi courtesy of Phecda and Pthalo!
It's debut time for the sizzling Somora...
...the charming Chiby...
...the lissome Litha...
...and the opulent Optix!
And last but by no means least? It's my pleasure to introduce you to a young lady who was nice enough to be my friend well before her set hit MR... say hello to the vivacious Va5h!
So... until we meet again... share the love, be kind to animals, patronize the Paper Wing (and pray for the Stardust Playhouse), visit the MANOR (GUEST SHOW this weekend featuring Baron Von Porkchop!), salute your favorite veteran and wish me luck!
Your friend,
Remo D.
We're still celebrating Veteran's Day today, but as you'll recall I gave my father his combination Veteran's Day and birthday outing on Saturday... I took him to see a truly phenomenal James Bond movie...
